Roy has been involved in many community activities including board involvement on United Way, Maine Technical College system, and Boys & Girls Club, to name a few. Hiking and camping have been an important part of his family interests.

Former Vice President of Operations and Ecological Planning for Hancock Land Company. He previously worked for the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences and developed a cooperative research project between non-profit research organizations and the timber industry in Maine. He was the A.T. trail maintainer on Barren-Chairback mountain while in college.
